The Discord was founded on May 30, 2023. On September 20, the first X post dropped: "The Order begins soon #BTC #Ordinals." By September 26: "The Order goes old-school. 3333 Toshis, for FREE." Two days later, on September 28, the call went out: "FREE TO INSCRIBE - FIRST COME FIRST SERVE - 3333 TOSHIS." The Toshi Order was born - a collection of 3,333 unique inscriptions etched permanently into Bitcoin through Ordinals.
By October 4, the Order was forming. Each Toshi cost roughly $1.10 to inscribe at 10 sats/vb. The original minting site at thetoshiorder.github.io showed available Toshis, while OrdinalsBot handled hash checks and inscriptions on rare sats. UniSat was used to verify unconfirmed inscriptions. By October 5, the end of the mint was near - all 3,333 Toshis claimed, the Order formed and FINAL.
What began as an anonymous founder's vision quickly evolved into something greater: a decentralized collective governed by The Fellowship - ten stewards chosen to carry the mission forward. No VCs. No roadmap. Just culture, conviction, and the immutable permanence of Bitcoin.

On November 21, 2023, the anonymous founder posted the final message: "Welcome To The Fellowship Of The Toshi Order." Ten members were selected to form the future of The Toshi Order - a council to put forward suggestions, vote, and decide by majority.
"Like Bitcoin no one person should be in charge of The Toshi Order alone." The Fellowship received full administrator roles in Discord and control of the @sat_toshis X account.
The founder's parting conviction: "I believe a group of like minded people in the same community can work together with passion and honesty to create something great in this amazing space that was given to us by Satoshi Nakamoto and those who believe in the Bitcoin vision."
With that, the founder stepped back to the sidelines - no involvement in any other project, just pride in watching The Order flourish through its community. Great power comes with great responsibility.
